Chiesa della Badia di Sant’Agata
Via Vittorio Emanuele II, 182 – Catania
The most representative architectural work of Giovan Battista Vaccarini, the church was the chapel of a cloistered convent. The Badia expresses the pure and perfect shapes, inspired by the great roman Borrominian architecture, which Vaccarini merged with local late baroque tradition. The breath-taking view enjoyed from the Cupola enables us to overlook the town and the Duomo square, as far as to the sea and Etna.
